During the last month’s of World War 2, hundred forty Dutch men were executed by the Nazi’s near teahouse Roozenoord on the Amstel Dijk. Out of hundred forty casualties, hundred names are known. Katzir’s winning proposal for the new memorial site consists of a landscape of empty chairs.
